The N.C. Center for Missing Persons has issued an alert for a missing endangered woman. She is 49-year-old Janie Maire Jimison, who is believed to be suffering from a cognitive impairment.

Ms. Jimison is a white female. She is 5’5″ tall and weighs 160 pounds. She has brownish-red, shoulder-length hair and bluish-grey eyes. No clothing description is available.

Ms. Jimison was last seen at U.N.C. Health on South Sterling Street in Morganton. Her direction of travel is unknown. A possible destination is an address on Buchanan Street in Spruce Pine where she has family members.
