Multiple agencies responded to a crash in Conover involving a tractor-trailer and Catawba County Sheriff’s Officer. The collision occurred shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Conover Boulevard and Business 321. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a Catawba County Sheriff’s Deputy was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, a Delaware resident, was charged with running a solid red light. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, that agency’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement section will be conducting an inspection of the tractor-trailer.
