Additional Information Released In Connection To Drug Trafficking Case
More details have been released regarding the arrest of an eastern Catawba County man who is charged with drug trafficking. 52-year-old Mark Robert Eury of Oxford School Road in Catawba was arrested Sunday (March 12) by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. WHKY previously reported on his arrest Monday (March 13). He’s charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for controlled substance, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
On Sunday, deputies with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division assisted Probation Officers with the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction in a search of a probationer’s residence on Oxford School Road. During the search, a Sheriff’s Office K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics. Following that alert officers found and seized 2,393 grams of methamphetamine, 47 grams of cocaine, a firearm and $2,108 in U.S. currency.

Eury is on probation as a result of a conviction in Catawba County for felony attempted trafficking schedule II controlled substance. He was convicted in April, 2021 and received probation and a suspended sentence. Following Sunday’s arrest, Eury was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility without bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (March 14). A District Court appearance was scheduled Monday.
