Additional Details Released Regarding Arrest Of Caldwell County Man In Drug Case

More information has been released regarding the arrest of a Caldwell County man on felony charges. As WHKY previously reported, 45-year-old Norris Leshayne Myers of Eastview Place in Lenoir was arrested Saturday (February 24) by Caldwell County Sheriff’s Officers.

He’s charged with trafficking schedule I controlled substance, possession with intent to sell schedule I controlled substance, possession with intent to sell methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

On Saturday at approximately 3:00 p.m., a deputy stopped Myers for operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. After speaking with Myers for several minutes, the officer deployed K-9 Angie to conduct a free air sniff of Myers’ vehicle. K-9 Angie alerted to the odor of narcotics.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and Officers found approximately eight grams of meth, white powder believed to be fentanyl, mushroom infused chocolate bars, a 9mm handgun and more than $1500 in cash. The drugs seized during the investigation have a total street value of $4,000 according to North Carolina State Drug Guidelines.

Myers is currently on Federal Probation for previous Drug Offenses with the Western District of N.C. He was placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $350,000 secured bond. A District Court appearance was scheduled Monday (February 26).
