Additional Details Released In Meth Trafficking Case

More details have been released in connection to the arrest of a man in a Catawba County drug case. 

41-year-old Darren Wayne Hollar of Catawba, was arrested by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. He was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for a controlled substance. WHKY previously reported on Hollar’s arrest last Thursday (April 25).

Narcotics Investigators with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office, Hickory Police Department and Maiden Police Department executed a search warrant last week at a residence on Berts Drive in Catawba. This search resulted in the seizure of nine ounces of methamphetamine, five grams of marijuana, two firearms, and drug paraphernalia.

Catawba County’s Special Tactics and Response (STAR) Team assisted in the execution of this Search Warrant. Hollar was jailed Thursday in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $50,000 secured bond. He was no longer listed as an inmate in Catawba County. A first appearance in District Court was scheduled Friday (April 26).
