STATESVILLE, N.C. — An argument in a convenience store parking lot has led to criminal charges after investigators say a woman sprayed gasoline on another person and the victim’s vehicle.

According to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a convenience store on Island Ford Road in Statesville after the victim reported that a woman sprayed gasoline on both the victim and the victim’s truck during a verbal altercation before leaving the scene.

Deputies interviewed witnesses and reviewed surveillance video, which investigators say captured the incident. The case was assigned to Detective D. Geiken, who identified the suspect as 37-year-old Christina Dawn Hatcher of Statesville.

Hatcher has been charged with misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor injury to personal property. She was served with the warrants while in custody at the Alexander County Detention Center on unrelated charges. A magistrate set her bond at $10,000 secured.
