Police Investigating Death Of Man Involved In Crash, Gunshot Holes Found In Vehicle

On Sunday (July 26) at approximately 2:30 a.m., Statesville Police Patrol Officers responded to a vehicle collision in the 500 block of Elam Avenue. After arriving on scene, Officers found a Chevrolet Avalanche which had crashed into a tree. Upon further investigation, officers determined the vehicle left the roadway, then struck a telephone pole, before crashing into the tree.

The driver, who was later identified as 39-year-old Courtney Deshawn Bradshaw of Statesville, was found in the vehicle. Iredell County EMS arrived on scene and determined that Mr. Bradshaw had passed away as a result of his injuries. Officers found what appeared to be numerous gunshot holes in the vehicle the victim was driving, along with injuries to Mr. Bradshaw.

Members of the Statesville Police Department Investigations Division and Agents with the State Bureau of Investigations, (SBI) arrived on scene. SBI Agents processed the crime scene, collecting evidence. Members of the Statesville Police Department Investigations Division canvassed the area and conducted interviews throughout the afternoon Sunday.
