30-year-old Christian Shane Kyle Furman of Larue Circle, 43-year-old Brandi Marie Bowman of Ashleybrook Lane, and 37-year-old John Wesley Harding of Eufola Road, all from Statesville, were arrested by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. Furman and Harding were arrested Wednesday (July 22) and Bowman was arrested Thursday (July 23).
Furman and Bowman were each charged with two counts of felony shooting into an occupied dwelling, and felony conspiracy to shoot into an occupied dwelling. Harding was charged with felony counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and three felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Last Sunday (July 19) Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers responded to the area of Eufola Road, in western Iredell County, after receiving several calls from citizens who said they heard gun shots. They were also told a residence was shot into. When the responding deputies arrived, they were told that the people who were responsible for the shooting were in a black Ford F-150 truck. The truck left the area after the shooting.
Deputies went to the residence where the shooting occurred. They spoke with the victim who told them the house had been struck by gunfire, there were two children under the ages of 14 inside the home, and no one was injured. While investigating the incident, deputies learned, a second residence was hit by a gunfire during the incident.
During the investigation, information was gathered indicating there had been two separate shootings. The first shooting actually started due to a civil dispute. Christian Furman was riding a motorcycle on the roadway earlier in the evening, which caused an argument between Furman and John Wesley Harding, resulting in Harding allegedly firing shots at Furman while on the motorcycle.
Furman left the area then came back a short time later with Brandi Bowman driving a vehicle with the alleged intent to retaliate against Harding. When Furman and Bowman rode by Harding’s residence, he was waiting in his vehicle. Harding then allegedly fired a shot at Furman at which time Furman allegedly returned gunfire. Harding then chased the vehicle Furman and Bowman were in. Both parties reportedly exchanged gunfire, hitting the vehicle several times. During the reported exchange of gunfire, Bowman also had her 14-year-old child in the vehicle.
Bond for all three suspects was set at $200,000 secured. They’re all scheduled to appear in District Court August 11.
