46-year-old Chadwick Lee Hight of Drew Drive in Lincolnton was arrested today (September 25) by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of possession of stolen goods, possession of burglary tools, breaking and entering to a building, larceny after breaking and entering, and breaking and entering to a motor vehicle along with a misdemeanor count of injury to property.
Deputies were dispatched to a burglar alarm at 12:40 a.m. at Boger City Pawn Shop on East Main Street in Lincolnton and arrived to find the glass in the front door had been shattered. Officers went into the business but did not find anyone inside. Deputies searched the area and located a suspect a short distance away on Highway 150 East near Fran Avenue. The suspect was pushing a bicycle down the middle of East Highway 150 with some of the stolen goods tied to it.
The store owner identified the suspect on surveillance video as Chadwick Lee Hight. He had been in the store before. The man had in his possession a pair of black boots, a tripod ash tray and a left handed guitar and a black motorcycle jacket. All of the items had been taken from the store. The suspect also had two bolt cutters and miscellaneous burglary tools.
Surveillance from the store shows that the suspect entered a box truck owned by the business before breaking into the store. Hight was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $30,000 secured bond. A District Court appearance was scheduled today.[Photo of Chadwick Lee Hight courtesy of Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office]
