22 New COVID-19 Cases Reported In Catawba County, Vaccine Eligibility Expands Wednesday

22 new cases of COVID-19 were reported today (April 6) by Catawba County Public Health, increasing the overall total to 17,950, with 296 deaths. There were 16 people hospitalized with the coronavirus in Catawba County.

Governor Roy Cooper and North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Mandy Cohen gave an update on the state’s current data, trends and vaccination progress. Tomorrow marks the opening of vaccine eligibility for Group 5. This means anyone 16 years and older who wants a COVID-19 vaccination is eligible to get one.
