Congratulations to the 2023 District Spelling Bee Champion, Brie W., a sixth grader at Mountain View Elementary School. She won this year’s event by correctly spelling “subsequent” in the 11th round facing off with runner up, Bryce S., a seventh grader from Jacobs Fork Middle School. The 2023 district spelling bee included 20 participants from Catawba County elementary and middle schools. Brie will be representing Catawba County Schools in the Regional Spelling Bee, sponsored by the Carolina Panthers, at Bank of America Stadium on March 5.
