App State women’s track & field competed at the Bill Webb Combined Events Classic on Friday and Saturday at High Point.

Celia Agee took second in the pole vault, clearing 3.50m. Silvanna Curtain finished fifth with a mark of 3.35m and Casey Meinert was sixth with a height of 3.35m.

In the 4×100-meter relay, the team of Taylor Smith, Jessica Dixon, Maya Hanks and LaBria King crossed second in 47.63 seconds. The tandem of Jelonnie Smith, Samara Gibson, Ani Judd and Djamila Petersen placed fifth with a time of 47.77 seconds.

App State made a strong showing in the 5,000-meter run, placing four in the top-six. Jasmine Donohue crossed second in 17:26.65, Lisha Van Onselen placed third in 17:30.71, Kylee Frady was right behind in fourth with a time of 17:37.94 and Bridget Kunkel was sixth with a time of 17:44.16.

Madison McCoy recorded a third place finish with a toss of 43.45m in the discus and Kayla Carson cleared 1.51m in the high jump to place fifth.

Taylor Smith was sixth in the 100-meter dash in 12.03 seconds and Gibson crossed eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.83 seconds.

A victory in the 4×100-meter relay highlighted App State men’s track & field competition at the Bill Webb Combined Events Classic at High Point on Friday and Saturday.

Jordan Johnson, Jabari Johnson, Jabari Dalton and Eric Haddock Jr. combined for the victory in the 4×100-meter relay in 41.73 seconds. Their time won the event by .22 seconds.

Yates Hall cleared 1.98m in the high jump to finish third.

In the shot put, Nathan Karl recorded a fifth-place finish with a mark of 14.99m, Jacob Soorus finished sixth with a mark of 14.97m and Zane Johnson placed seventh with a mark of 14.96.

In the discus, Chrystian Smith placed fourth with a toss covering 48.67m and Karl finished sixth with a mark of 46.96m.

App State also recorded a top-eight finish in the 4×400-meter relay. Cole Krehnbrink, Jabari Johnson, Dylan Blankenship and Dalton teamed up to cross sixth in 3:22.78.

The Mountaineers saw two finish in the top-eight of the pole vault. Braden Underwood was seventh with a height of 4.31m and Taylor Fox was right behind in eight, clearing 4.16m.

Evan Hardin took eighth place in the hammer throw with a toss of 47.01m.

The Mountaineers will compete next weekend at both the Raleigh Relays at N.C. State and the Weems Baskin Invitational at South Carolina.
