Conover woman wins half a million in NC Lottery, 13 others share 30K prize 11/12/2009 3:50:39 PM
Pragna Dhanak of Conover says she was shocked and surprised when she scratched off the “$500,000 Jackpot” instant ticket she’d bought and realized she’d won the $500,000 top prize in the North Carolina Education Lottery.
Dhanak, who received $340,003.20 after taxes, says she will donate some of her winnings and give some to her family.
She bought her winning ticket at V&B Food Mart on East Main Street in Lincolnton.
A group of 13 local residents shared a 30-thousand dollar prize. Guillermina Kelly and Linda Curtis of Hudson, Tammy Nelson of Lenoir, Stephen Harrison and Year Vang of Newton, Cynthia Jardine and Pamela Dalia of Hickory, Donna Spicer of Icard, Joyce McNeill, Kia Thao, and Rita Semones of Conover, Teresa Harvell of Maiden and Francis Baker of Nebo.
