Catawba Co. Schools Announce Screening & Orientation Dates for Kindergarten3/11/2010 1:51:36 PM
Catawba County Schools has announced its preschool screening dates for students entering school for the first time in the 2010-11 school year. To begin kindergarten in the fall, a child must be five years old by August 31, 2010. Screening dates and parent orientation dates begin later this month, running into June 2010. Specific dates and times vary by school. For more information, contact the school your child will attend.
Following is a list of schools, screening dates and parent orientation sessions.
Balls Creek Elementary
Screening dates are March 25 and April 1 from 3-7 p.m. by appointment. Parent orientation is March 11 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Banoak Elementary
Screening dates are May 10-11 from 4-5:30 p.m. and 6 -7:30 pm. The parent orientation will be held at the same time as the screening.
Blackburn Elementary
Screening dates are March 25-26 from 3:30-7:00 p.m. Parent orientation is March 11 at 6:30 p.m.
Catawba Elementary
Screening dates are May 6 at 8:30 -11:00 a.m. and 3:30-6:00 p.m. and May 7, 8:30 -11:00 a.m. or 3:30-5:00 p.m. Parent orientations is April 29 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. and 4:30-6:00 p.m.
Claremont Elementary
Screening date is June 16 and parent orientation is April 22 at 3:30 or 5:00 p.m.
Campbell Elementary
Screening dates are March 29-30 from 3-5 p.m. Parent orientation is May 4 at 5:00 p.m.
Lyle Creek Elementary
Screening dates are April 26 and 27 from 3:30-6:00 p.m. Parent orientation is April 20 at 6:30 p.m.
Maiden Elementary
Screening dates are April 20, 22, 23 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. The Parent orientation will be held the first hour of child’s staggered entry day. Parents will also receive important school information on screening dates while their children are being screened.
Mt. View Elementary
Screening date is May 13 from 3:30-7:00 p.m. Parent orientation will be April 15 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. and 4:00-5:00 p.m. An open house is scheduled for August 25.
Murray Elementary
Screening date is April 22 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Parent orientations and school tours will be May 6 at 9:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m.
Oxford Elementary
Screening date is June 4 from 4:00-6:45 p.m. Parent orientation is June 1 at 6:00 p.m. School tours will be given on June 2-3 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. by appointment. Please call to schedule.
Sherrills Ford Elementary
Screening dates are May 10-11 from 3-6 p.m. Parent orientation will be May 5 at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. School tours will be given on May 13 at 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
Snow Creek Elementary
Screening dates are May 4-5 form 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Parent orientation is April 27 at 5:30 p.m.
St. Stephens Elementary
Screening date is April 24 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Parent orientation is April 22 from 6-7 p.m.
Startown Elementary
Screening date is June 15 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Parent orientation is May 14 at 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Tuttle Elementary
Screening dates are May 4 and 6 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Parent orientation is March 31 at 9:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
