35-year-old Victor Scott Pressley of Robinson Road in Newton was arrested by Hickory Police at about 11:30 last night (August 13) on one felony count each of possession of cocaine and possession of a schedule IV controlled substance.
He was arrested when an Officer on foot patrol at the Red Roof Inn on Lenoir-Rhyne Boulevard S.E. in Hickory approached Pressley, who was standing in the doorway of a room at the hotel. Pressley gave consent to search, leading to the discovery of a bottle containing 0.8 grams of crack cocaine in Pressley’s pocket. A search of the room turned up another bottle containing 0.8 grams of crack, three carisoprodol pills (which are muscle relaxants) and two clonazepam pills (which are normally used to treat seizures and panic disorders).
Pressley was taken into custody without incident and placed in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility under a $4,200 secured bond. He has since been released. He will appear in District Court tomorrow in Hickory.
