Hickory Man Accused of Forging & Cashing Check from Mtn. View Rec

37-year-old Randall Anderson of 23rd Street N.E. in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police at about 10:50 yesterday morning (August 12) on one felony count each of uttering a forged instrument, forgery of endorsement and obtaining property by false pretense.

His arrest comes in connection to an incident on April 8 of this year in which a check was stolen from the Mountain View Rec Center. The check was written and cashed by Anderson, who was an umpire for Mountain View Rec.

Warrants for his arrest were issued on April 29. The warrants were served yesterday as Anderson was taken into custody at his home without incident.

Anderson was placed in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility with bond set at $6,000, secured. He was scheduled to make a first appearance in District Court today in Newton.
