Operation Double Deuce Nets 6 Iredell County Arrests

Six people were arrested last week in Iredell County as part of a multi-agency effort known as Operation Double Deuce.

Paul Colborne was arrested on a Federal warrant from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives. 44-year-old William Cody Ridenhour was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, maintaining a place for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ridenhour was also charged on an outstanding warrant from Caldwell County for non-payment of child support. Tony Lee Baynard, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Craig Lavon Wilson was arrested on an outstanding child support warrant. 29-year-old Juwan Anthony Hester was charged with failure to register as a sex offender. 58-year-old Victoria Lee Ivester faces charges for possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and maintaining a place for a controlled substance.

Three Detectives from the Iredell Co. Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit took part in the operation. They are Lt. Bill Hamby and Sergeants Tim Edwards and Leah Taylor.

Operation Double Deuce involved the Iredell Co. Sheriff’s Office, the Alexander Co. Sheriff’s Office, the Taylorsville Police Department, North Carolina Probation & Parole and the U.S. Marshal Service. The operation was conducted to verify and check registered sex offenders in the 22A Judicial District, which covers Iredell and Alexander counties.

The taskforce met in Alexander County on Wednesday, July 23, and checked 56 registered sex offenders. The following day, Officers met in Iredell County and checked 28 registered sex offenders.

In total for the two-day operation, 84 offenders were verified. 15 weapons were seized, including ten rifles, four shotguns, one sawed-off shotgun and several hundred rounds of ammunition. A total of 18 arrests were made. Nine offenders have charges pending. 70 pornographic VHS tapes and 17 pornographic DVDs were seized. Also seized were two computers, one cell phone and various amounts of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
