36-year-old Jarrod Alan Johnson of Hunters Path in Granite Falls, 21-year-old Stephanie Denise Hammond of Lenoir and 41-year-old Kevin Lewis Greene, Sr. of Eagles Nest Lane in Granite Falls were all arrested on May 30 on drug charges. The three were taken into custody at Johnson’s residence.
Narcotics Agents with the Caldwell Co. Sheriff’s Office I.C.E. Unit were initially at the residence to arrest Johnson on a felony warrant from an earlier drug investigation in which Johnson was caught with half an ounce of crystal methamphetamine. Agents went to the front door where they encountered Greene. During questioning, Greene concealed the fact that Johnson was hiding inside the residence. Agents eventually made contact with Johnson in the home and they located Hammond, who was asleep on the couch in the living room.
A search of the home turned up over five grams of meth, digital scales, a .40 caliber pistol and other drug paraphernalia. The drugs seized have a total street value of $2,895.
Johnson was charged with two felony counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver meth and maintaining a vehicle or dwelling to keep or store a controlled substance. Greene faces charges for possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer. Hammond was charged with one count of felonious possession of meth.
All three were incarcerated in the Caldwell Co. Detention Center Johnson was given a $100,000 secured bond. Hammond and Greene were each given a $5,000 secured bond. Johnson and Hammond were both due in court today (June 2). Greene has a court date on July 14.
