Hickory Man Convicted of Habitual B&E

45-year-old James Anthony Wynn of Hickory was convicted yesterday (May 1) in Catawba County Criminal Superior Court of felony breaking & entering and habitual breaking & entering.  Wynn was sentenced to no less than 30 months and no more than 48 months in the North Carolina Division of Adult Correction.

The crimes occurred in May 2013 in Hickory and involved a residential breaking and entering.  Wynn was caught in the residence by the homeowner and fled the scene.  He was apprehended by Hickory Police later the same day and was identified by the homeowner.

Officer Kenneth Stephens of the Hickory Police Department handled the investigation and Assistant District Attorney Brenda Brewer prosecuted the case.  The Honorable Yvonne Mims Evans presided over the conviction.

Wynn will be transported to the Department of Adult Correction for processing.
