Catawba County has scheduled a public forum for residents living around and using the Highway 150 corridor.
The forum on a draft of the proposed Highway 150 Corridor Plan will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 8 at the Sherrills Ford-Terrell Fire & Rescue Base, 4011 Slanting Bridge Road.
Interested persons are invited to drop in at their convenience during those hours to learn more about the proposed draft of the plan and speak with County Planning staff to give any additional input on the future of the 150 Corridor. The meeting follows an initial public meeting held on November 21 of last year in which public input was considered before development of the plan began.
The boundary of the corridor extends approximately one half mile to one mile north of Highway 150, following the Seaboard Coast Railroad right of way, running along Mt. Pleasant Road, along property lines to Highway 16 Business and then to the new Highway 16. To the south, the corridor extends approximately one half mile and follows the edges of Lake Norman and property lines. The corridor runs from the Catawba River to the Lincoln County line.
